Our Mission
Columbia County Family Center offers many programs that empower & support the families we serve. We are committed to providing education that empowers families to meet the developmental & health needs of their children by encouraging families to access & utilize community-based health & human services.
Our History
- The Columbia County Family Center has been serving families since 1992.
- The Agency was one of the original pilot Community-Based Family Centers in Pennsylvania.
- Columbia County Family Center achieved the Parents as Teachers Blue Ribbon Status in 2013 after being one of the first programs to go through an intensive quality endorsement process.
- Columbia County Family Center began in Benton, PA but now services all six school districts in Columbia & Montour County.
- The Columbia County Family Center began with the evidence-based Parents as Teachers but has grown to offer many additional programs.
- The Columbia County Family Center was originally housed under a local school district until 2000, when the county government took over the operations of Family Center Services.
- The Columbia County Family Center now has six offices throughout Columbia & Montour Counties.
